The next day we have an early morning start cruising the labyrinth of canals and small rivers to the cheerful atmosphere of the floating markets on the Muara Kuin River. The floating market is located exactly at the junction of the river of Barito and Kuin. The floating market is a reflection of Banjar culture that has been going on long time ago.
Local vendors paddling canoes and selling their produce make this a fascinating and exciting experience that is well worth the early morning rise. Floating market is a place where you can witness or do activity in river market by using boat directly.
Finally, to Kambang Island with its local inhabitants, the monkeys ready to welcome you before heading back to Martapura for some shopping or a tour of Banjarmasin. An enchanting insight into a different way of life !!

Upon your arrival at Syamsuddin Noor Airport of Banjarmasin, you will be met by our Asia World Indonesia Representative and transferred to a traditional diamond mining field to watch people working and searching for raw diamonds using very simple traditional methods. Then visit a Diamond workshop where you will see the talented crafts-men artistically creating beautiful jewelry in various designs.
After that we go to Martapura Town to visit a Diamond & Precious Stone Gallery, then for the shoppers among us, we visit the Precious Stone Shopping Centre, Cahaya Bumi Selamat. A varied selection of jewelry and other local souvenirs are on offer at many of the shops to entice you.
Afternoon we drive to the city of Banjarmasin and check into the hotel of your choice.
Overnight at Grand Kecubung Hotel or Mercure Hotel Banjarmasin
Early in the morning we leave your hotel for the jetty and cruise the Martapura river, to enter one of the most famous landmarks of South Kalimantan, Banjarmasin with its labyrinth of canals and the energy charged atmosphere of the floating markets. These traditional markets take place on the Muara Kuin River. At daybreak, boats come from nearby villages and bring vegetables, fruits, spices and chilies, fish and shrimp, and other daily needs. Buyers also come to the market in small boats and close their transactions on the water. As day breaks, the atmosphere becomes more cheerful. The number of buyers and boats increases. At a little past noon, the market calms down. And empty boats leave. The best time to see the market in action is in the early morning, between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m. Your boat will interact with plenty of the women vendors and you can even try various foods or cakes on offer.
Then visit Kambang Island in the midst of Barito River with its tame monkeys and various flora. On this island some of the people as well as surrounding communities come to the island with offerings such as bananas, egg, sticky rice, Mayang-nut, and different types of flowers to pray based on their animism faith. We then return to the jetty and proceed by car to Martapura for some more shopping or join a city sightseeing tour of Banjarmasin.
After that you will be transferred to the Airport for departure.
